* Finally, we are very knowledgeable on the BKP line of pickups and rather than simply processing your order we work with you to make sure you get the pickups you need to get your tone. Nobody beats Peerless Tone's knowledge base or customer service. At least this is what our customers tell us. We have a huge repeat customer pool and this indicates that we are doing something right and we are very proud of this fact.
There is more to fitting a pickup to a guitar than the pickups properties. Your playing style, guitar, amp, cable, and every other aspect of your rig determine how your pickup will ultimately perform. We study these processes and use what we know to help our customers make the best choices. Having said this we relish the fact that BKPs are virtually identical to the classic designs with contemporary models (Warpig, Nailbomb, etc) being based on these designs. We know when its close enough for rock n roll.
Make Peerless Tone be your Bare Knuckle Pickup dealer to take advantage of everything these outstanding pickup manufactures (namely Tim Mill, President of BKP) has to offer.
Tone is ultimately in your fingers. Use the pickups that will inspire you and enable you to create your tone.

De-mystified! Bill Nash S-63 Stratocaster
Submitted by peerless on Tue, 02/21/2012 - 16:21.I recently acquired a Nash S-63 and it has immediately become my #1. There is a lot of disinformation about these guitars, a lot of haters, and a lot of folks who simply do not read the information available on the Bill Nash Web site.
I live in Alabama but when I am serious about buying a new guitar a take a pilgrimage to Wolfe Guitars in Florida. I sought out this dealer because he generally stocks some of the best Heritage guitars and is a great guy to deal with. You never know what you'll find on his sale floor loaded with high end instruments. My most recent visit to Wolfe Guitars was to buy a new Heritage 150. I had narrowed my options down to about 3 guitars. However, the more I thought through my options the more I came to the realization that, although 150's are nice, it is doubtful that one of these full size single cuts is going to replace my beloved Heritage 140 2nd Edition I purchased from Wolfe a few years back. This 140 is special because it is the first one made that was not a prototype. This 140 is a very special guitar and regardless of your disposition towards Gibson or Heritage, full size Les Pauls or the lighter models, no one has ever played the 140 and said anything negative. The most common question asked is , "what kind of pickups are in here? The sound great.". My 140 2nd Edition has the stocked HRW's in it and is pretty much the only guitar I never upgraded with Bare Knuckles. Yeah, there is defiantly something special about the Heritage 140 or its Gibson protege', the Les Paul Lite made in the late 1980's. Taking a 1/2" off the body width and adding a belly cut goes a long way in making these guitars very playable and sound just great. It's amusing that these guitars are not more popular given folks are drilling holes into there Les Pauls in order to get the weight down to a manageable level. Heritage doesn't randomly drill holes in their Honduran Mahogany as Gibson does. They do authentic sound chambering which in my opinion is in its infancy as far as what it is going to do for the electric guitar. Warmoth has taken the lead on exploring what all chambering can do for tone. However, perhaps there well never be a substitute for good wood. Even the top of the VOS or whatever Gibby's aren't as nice (as far as tone woods go,as any off the shelf Heritage). Yet, I digress on another topic I love.
On deciding I do not need another Heritage I did think back to the cracked poly finish of my MIJ foto-flame and its dire need for a fret dressing. The Achilles heel of the Fender MIJ early '90s fotoflames are that sever cracking usually occurs over time where the finish gets chipped. I've never seen anything like it on any other poly finished guitar and unlike nitro checking its not at all attractive. The vintage frets on my fotoflame needs dressing and I have been putting off this expensive repair. Since I was at Wolfe's to buy a new guitar I decided that I needed another strat. I immediate went to the G&L's. I have always wanted one as they are great guitars. There were also some used Fender starts to choose from but nothing with a real nitro finish. A current Fender sratocaster with an upgraded thin-kin nitro finish is pretty much just for ascetics and does little for tone or resonance since the grain filler is still polyurethane based. All that thin skin marketing is just about as truthful as any other type of propaganda, hyperbole, or sales hype. I waned my next srat to have a real nitro finish. These guitars are only offered by niche' builders and are expensive. I have been wanting to do my own strat parts caster buy, I like the nitro finsish and 60's colors but I'm not very good with shooting on the paint or the finishing. Build a few part-casters from mostly unfinished wood like from ALlparts and you gain respect for how the ultimate feel of your strat comes from all that sanding done prior to putting on the paint.
With all these biases clouding my mind and protecting my money I noticed one pink strat in the corner. A nice looking shell pink. "Ohh, that's the only Nash we have in the store right now, we sale them faster than we can keep them and we have seven more coming in next week." I remembered what little I knew about Nash guitars, the guy who builds part casters and sells them for a good price. While my buddy went outside to have a smoke and research the guitar on his I Phone I plugged into a amp and gave it a test run. My very first impression was that the guitar was exceptionally light and felt a lot like the Warmoth guitars my buddy out in the parking lot builds. He put one together in particular that I like. Again I thought about all that sanding. The mild relic job was ok. I have seen better I guess but I'm not too into the relic phenomenon. I thought it was really dumb at first, I like to put wear on my own guitars. But the marketing has taken its toll on me over the years and I have gotten used to the look. My favorite strat of all time was a 1960 closet classic from 1998. I loved that guitar but never really cared for some of the relic appointments. I do not baby my guitars by the way. I couldn't play a guitar and keep it mint if I tried (with my Gibson and Heritage guitars I do try).
Anyway I want to make the point that at first this guitar did not feel like a worn in strat that had been played for years. It felt like a freshly assembled guitar that needed to be broken in like all new guitars. I do not know how this should taken because frankly I have little experience with relic guitars and whether they feel "broken in" off the shelf although they do look heavily used. This guitar however played like a dream. It growled and sang and had more sustain than most strats have. I was very impressed. The more I played the guitar the more I loved it. I asked...TO BE CONTINUED
