Guitars
Peerlesstone is all about playing guitar and finding the perfect tone. In this section we are focusing on information about guitars. Which ones are good, how to set them up, how to make them better.
We are offering general sections for both Fender and Gibson instruments. In these sections you can find model specific information such as an interview with Eric Johnson about his signature strat, as well as information on setup tips for Fender and Gibson guitars.
If you play a strat you really need to learn to setup the guitar yourself. It is part of learning how to play. Paying money for some kid in a music store to give your favorite axe a truss rod tweak or at best return it to Fender Factory spec is just not the way to go. Your setup should be as personal as your playing style. The strat was made to be adjusted and modified by its OWNER.
Having said that, I am still at the point where from time to time or under certain conditions it is necessary for a skilled lutheir to examine and adjust my Gibson guitars. They take a bit more finesse and skill level to work on.
Their are lots of little adjustments you can make however and you at least need to be intimately familar with the Gibson setup in order to get your repair guy aligned with setting up a guitar for your style.
You can build your own guitar. It costs about the same but the quality will be much better than most of the Guitars you buy at a retail chain unless your paying over $1500.
