John Frusciante Lesson
Print out the PDF's and cross reference with the sound clips. This is a VERY GOOD breakdown of his style. The instructor took fundamental clippings of his style and presents it as exercises. There is a lot to be leaned from this breakdown. This is much better than what I usually see. A lot of these ideas are so cool, and they are cleanly presented.

this is stuff that I take for granted that everybody knows about tube amps....
this is a good article discussing the logic and history of front end boost pedals like the range master to the nonmaster marshals, and into the master volume marshals and how they achieve what they achieve. I learned some interesting things here about the relationship and digressions between amps with multi gain stages and simple amps that are front-end boosted with something like the rangemaster.

...find the table of contents and start reading....Many of the sources he sites and articles he criticizes I have read....This is very good stuff. Much of it challenges traditional views. Some of it may be a bit too extreme or opinionated but it is interesting none the less.
